Larry Wadaga, age 61 of Baraga passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2008 at Marquette General Hospital.

Larry was born October 3, 1947 in Hancock, MI son of the late Ignace and Angeline (Ellenich) Wadaga. He graduated from Baraga High School in 1966 and Northern Michigan University in 1970. Larry taught first at Sacred Heart School in L'Anse and then was with the Baraga Area Schools for 29 years of which 13 years was as Principal. He retired in 2000.

Larry was a member of St Ann's Church and served on the church council; coached little league, was an advisor for Youth in Government; he worked on Lumber Jack Days committee; was an officer and member of the Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel. He enjoyed the outdoors.

Surviving are his brother Michael Wadaga of Baraga; sister Mary Ann Dompier of Baraga; sister-in-law Peg Wadaga of Baraga; nieces and nephews Cindy (Bill) Giddings of Baraga, Robert Dompier of Merrimac, Mass., Jim (Corey) Dompier of Keweenaw Bay, Kristi Wadaga of Antigo, WI, Jason Wadaga of Lansing, MI, Gary (Linda) Wadaga of Baraga, Ronald (Cathy) Wadaga of Baraga, Brian (Angela) Wadaga of Baraga, Patrick (Cindy) Wadaga of Baraga, Mary Rae (Brennan) Bedner of Baraga, Jeanne Wadaga and Tom Wadaga; numerous great nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are his brothers Jack and Raymond Wadaga.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, Nov. 23rd from 5-7:00 P.M. at the Jacobson Funeral Home. Parish prayers will be recited at 6:30 P.M. at the funeral home. The funeral mass will be held on Monday, Nov. 24th at 11:00 A.M. at St. Ann's Church in Baraga, there will be visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Fr. Norman Clisch will officiate. Burial will be in the Baraga Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. The Jacobson Funeral Home of L'Anse is assisting the family.
