Lillian Ellen Bonney

Lillian Ellen Bonney, age 74 of Nisula, passed away on Friday, November 30, 2001 at her home. She was born December 10, 1926 in Nisula, daughter to the late Jacob and Selma (Vilppula) Hiltunen. Mrs. Bonney graduated from Baraga High School in 1945. She married Donn Bonney in 1949 in Pelkie. They resided in Waterford, MI until 1984, when they moved back to her family homestead.
Mrs. Bonney was a member of Mission United Lutheran Church, WELCA, and the Finnish Center in Farmington Hills, MI. She is survived by her husband Donn of Nisula; three sons, Donn Bonney of Korea, Dean Bonney of Imlay City, MI, Bruce Bonney of Clarkston, MI; and three grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by three brothers, Bill, George, and Ronald Hiltunen, and three sisters, Viola Belttairi, Syma Waatti, and Edna Belttairi.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 4, at 1:00 p.m. at Mission United Lutheran Church. Visitation will be on Monday, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Jacobson Funeral Home, and Tuesday, one hour prior to the service at the church. Rev. Michael Laakko will officiate. Burial will take place in the Nisula Cemetery in the spring. The Jacobson Funeral Home of L'Anse is assisting the family.
