Louise Gerard

Louise Gerard, age 93 of L'Anse, MI passed away on Monday, June 27, 2011 at Bayside Village in L'Anse.
She was born on July 10, 1917 in Weeksbury, Kentucky daughter to the late Marion and Lucy (Wells) Collins. Louise was married to Theodore Aanderud and they had four children; she then was married to Elmer Ring and he preceded her in death and she married Nicholas Gerard.
Louise owned and operated several beauty shops while living in Florida and Ishpeming, MI. She moved to L'Anse in the 1970's and had a coffee shop called "The Friendship Inn". She was a former member of the L'Anse Baptist Church and loved to have Bible study in her home. She enjoyed traveling and having people over for coffee.
Surviving are her son Dennis (Brenda) Aanderud of Spotsylvania, Virginia; daughters, Dawn (Dale) Numikoski of Ishpeming, MI, Diane (Charles) Garrett of Dayton, TX; brothers, Robert (Naomi) Collins of Skanee, MI, Merle Collins of Detroit, MI; sisters, Bessie Pennock of L'Anse, Dorothy Revord of Florida, Marion (Orville) Revord of Florida; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her husband Nicholas Gerard; son Duane Aanderud; brother Homer Collins; sisters Pauline Marcenkowski, Loretta Hollenbeck, and Glenna Ball; and a grandson Shane McGlone.
Private family services will be held. Burial will be in the L'Anse Evergreen Cemetery. The Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
