Lucille L. Schultz
December 21, 1922 — March 20, 2005
Lucille L. Schultz, age 82 of L'Anse passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, March 20, 2005.
She was born December 21, 1922 in L'Anse, MI daughter to the late Norman and Alice (Douville) McKindles. Lucille graduated from L'Anse High School in 1940 and then attended St. Scholastica College in Duluth for two years. She joined the US Navy in October 1943 until December 1944, serving during WWII. Lucille married Earl Schultz on August 21, 1945 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in L'Anse.
Lucille was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Alter Society, and the church Choir. She enjoyed knitting.
Surviving are three sons, Edward Schultz of Pavilion, WY, James (Jeanie) Schultz of L'Anse, David (Jill) Schultz of Sobieski, WI; five daughters, Mary Frances (Tom) Menge of L'Anse, Barbara (Wesley) Bertz of Liberty Twp., OH, Norma Jean Schultz of Daytona Beach, FL, Kathleen (Tim) Danhieux of Menominee, and Christine (John) Karry of Houghton; one brother Patrick McKindles of Coral Gables, FL; sister Mary Alice Havel of Big Bay, MI; thirteen grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her husband, Earl in 1977; son Peter; brother Norman McKindles.
The Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 23 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Fr. Chacko will officiate. The visitation will be on Tuesday from 6 a�" 8:00 p.m. at Jacobson Funeral Home. The Baraga County Veterans will conduct a military service at 6:30 pm under the direction of the Baraga American Legion Post 444. Parish prayers will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in the spring in the L'Anse Evergreen Cemetery. The Jacobson Funeral Home in L'Anse is assisting the family.
