Lyyli "Lulu" Sandelin

Lulu Sandelin, age 93 of Baraga, passed away Monday, November 5, 2001 at the Marquette Medical Care Facility in Ishpeming.
She was born May 9, 1908 in Boston Location, Houghton County, daughter to the late Eric and Selma (Kallio) Pennala. Lulu married Theodore Sandelin on July 31, 1931 in Calumet. They resided in Baraga. Lulu is a member of the Pelkie Laestadian Lutheran Church. Her hobbies include entertaining guests, crocheting, knitting, and embroidery.
She is survived by her husband Theodore of 70 years; daughters Verna (Donald) Byykkonen of Ishpeming, Helen Kay Maloney of Iron River, Linda (David) Lindstrom of Seville, OH; sister, Viola Stahl of Denton, TX; 14 grandchildren; and45 great grandchildren.
Lulu is preceded in death by four brothers, John, Ralph, Arthur, and Hubert, and two great grandsons.
The funeral service will be on Thursday, Nov. 8, at 4:00 p.m. at the Pelkie Laestadian Lutheran Church. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. at the Church. Tom Prophet will officiate. The burial will be in the Pelkie Cemetery. The pallbearers will be the grandsons, Glen and Gerald Byykkonen, Jim, Mike, Pete, and Mark Maloney. The Jacobson Funeral Home of L'Anse is in charge of arrangements.
