Mabel T. Andersen

Mabel T. Andersen, age 90, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2001 at Bayside Village in L'Anse, where she has been a resident patient for three years.

She was born March 7, 1910 in Skanee, daughter to the late Ernest and Theresa (Sandberg) Fredrickson. Mabel married Dave Andersen on November 23, 1928 at First Lutheran in Baraga County. She worked at Baraga County Memorial Hospital for 22 years as a nurse aide in OB, retiring in 1978. She was a member of United Methodist Church, L'Anse United Methodist Women, Order of Eastern Star for more than 45 years, a life member of the DAV Auxiliary, Life member of the VFW Post 3897 Auxiliary, American Legion Post 144 Auxiliary, AARP, and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie #2287 Auxiliary.

She is survived by one son Ken (Anne) Andersen of L'Anse, a brother Harry Fredrickson of Escanaba, two sisters Ruth Johnson of Baraga, Esther (Elmer) Lind of Chicago, 12 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mabel is preceded by her husband Dave in 1963, son Donald Andersen, daughter Margaret Dompier, brothers Morgan and George Fredrickson, and sister Ebba Mitchell.

The visitation will be on Tuesday, February 6, from 6- 9:00 p.m. at the Jacobson Funeral Home. The Eagles auxiliary will conduct a service at 6:00 p.m., the veteran's auxiliaries will have a service at 6:30 p.m., and the Eastern Star service will be at 7:30 p.m.. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, at 11:00 a.m., at the United Methodist Church. Rev. David Snyder will officiate. Burial will be in the L'Anse Evergreen Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the United Methodist Church. The Jacobson Funeral Home of L'Anse is assisting the family with the arrangements.
