Madeline Selden, a lifelong resident of Baraga County, died peacefully at Shulstad's Leisure Living in Baraga at age 98.
She was born and raised on a farm on Section 12 Road to a second generation Quebecoise family. Madge was the second oldest daughter of Mary (Vizina) Miron and Fred Miron.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Raymond Selden, her parents and siblings Eleanor, Jean, Kenneth, Jerry and Ann.
Survived by son John Frederick (Ruthann), Bernadette and Susan Sorelle, Claude (Darlene) Miron. Grandchildren Melanie (Harry) Fluharty, John Nickels (Analisa) Selden, Christopher (Ann) Selden, Benjamin (Katie) Selden, Luke (Trisha) Selden, and Selden great grandchildren Emma, Hannah, Liam, Kathleen, Audrey, Abigail, Mary, Presley, and Jacob.
Grandma Selden will always be remembered for her fabulous Christmas and Easter dinners at her home on Fall St. L'Anse, her garden, her sewing, and her devotion to her Catholic Faith.
John and Ruthann wish to thank Pauline and Al Goodreau and all of the caregivers at Shulstad's for the exceptional care that you provided for our 'Mom", "Grandma", "Auntie", "Madge."
A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, November 19th at 1:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church with Fr. Corey Litzner officiating. Burial will be in the L'Anse Evergreen Cemetery. The Jacobson Funeral Home in L'Anse is assisting the family.
