Madeline A. Vizina, age 85 of Baraga passed away on Sunday, April 04, 2004 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital skilled nursing unit.
She was born April 15, 1918 in Baraga daughter to the late John and Matilda (Auge) Cadeau. She attended Baraga Schools and was a life long area resident. Madeline married Lawrence J. Vizina Jr. on November 8, 1941 in Assinins, MI. She was employed as a home health care worker for a short time. She enjoyed handwork. Madeline was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church and a former member of St. Ann's Alter Society.
Surviving are her son, James (Diane) Vizina of Ft. Pierce, FL; daughter, Barbara (Gale) Eilola of Pelkie, MI; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceding her in death is her husband Lawrence; brothers John B., Wilfred, Dennis, John J., and Adolphus Cadeau; sisters, Virginia Vizina, Rose Cadeau, Leona Cadeau, and Mary Eva Haara.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. St. Ann's Catholic Church in Baraga on Wednesday, April 7. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church and on Tuesday from 6-8:00 p.m. at Jacobson Funeral Home. Parish prayers will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Fr. Jamie Ziminski will officiate. Burial will be in the Baraga Cemetery. The Jacobson Funeral Home in L'Anse is assisting the family.
