Margaret M. Archambeau, age 91 formerly of Baraga passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at the Bishop Noa Home for Senior Citizens in Escanaba, MI where she has been residing since 1998.

She was born October 10, 1915 in Baraga, MI daughter to the late George and Anna (Butala) Ellenich. Margaret attended school in Baraga. She married Leo Archambeau on May 2, 1933 in Baraga. Margaret had various jobs in the community. Margaret enjoyed playing cards, baking, cooking, and loved her grandchildren.

She was a very active member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, the Altar Society and the Catholic Lady Foresters and served as St. Ann's Sacristan for many years.

Surviving are her sons James (Patricia) Archambeau of Wells, MI, Russell (Donna) Archambeau of Gladstone, MI; daughters Mary (George) Skuggen of Avon Lake, OH, Betty Jean (Russell) Barger of White Pine, MI, Ann (Kermit) Larson of Gladstone; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren.

Preceded in death are her husband Leo in 1997; grandsons James and Robert Archambeau; sisters Rose Clisch and Angeline Wadaga; and 6 brothers.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 31 at 11:00 am at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Baraga. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Fr. Tom Schmeid will officiate. Burial will be in the Baraga Cemetery. The Jacobson Funeral Home of L'Anse is assisting the family.
