Margaret Anita Sayre

Margaret Anita Sayre, age 90 of L'Anse, MI died on Monday, November 3, 2014 after a brief illness.
She was born January 14, 1924 to Jens and Nannie (Olson) Thoresen in Zeba, MI. Margaret enjoyed telling stories about her childhood on the farm in Zeba. She also enjoyed walking, reading, baking, writing, sewing, watching sports events on TV and her family.
Margaret is survived by her children Anita (William) Gustin of Palm Coast, FL, Patricia Sober of Chelsea, MI, Richard (Martha) Sayre of Dexter, MI; her grandchildren William (Amanda) McAllister, Laura (John) Gilvary, Melissa Woodburn, Michael Sayre, and Joseph Sayre; five great grandchildren, Nathan Higgins Jr., Jack Gilvary, Ryan Gilvary, Anna McAllister, and Alison McAllister; and sister-in-law, Pearl Thoresen.
She was preceded in death by her son-in-law Richard Sober; sisters, Helen (Laz) Wachsmith, Elizabeth "Sissy" (Robert) Knapp, Dorothy "Dotty" (Bud) York, Phylis (Willard) White; brothers, John Thoresen, James "Vib" (Jo) Thoresen, Robert Thoresen, and Harold "Helly" Thoresen; and her beloved niece Avis Knapp.
She will be sadly missed by those who loved her. A brief celebration of her life will be held for family in the area. The Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the Family.
