Marilyn Marie Katherine Koski, 76, of L'Anse, died on Divine Mercy Sunday at her home with her loving family by her side.
Marilyn was born May 22, 1944 in Covington to Eino and Hilda (Rajala) Kytola and graduated from L'Anse High School in 1962. After graduation, she attended Northern Michigan University for two years earning her nursing degree as an LPN. She worked at Baraga County Memorial Hospital for 18 years in between raising her family. She married Gordon Koski on July 11th, 1964 and spent 56 years happily married. After nursing, she spent eight years traveling with her husband over the road truck driving. Marilyn was an active member of Sacred Heart of Jesus where she served on the funeral luncheon committee.
Marilyn was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She cherished her friends and was loved by all, including her grand puppies. She enjoyed traveling across country with her husband and taking trips with their friends/family, crocheting/knitting, playing scrabble, casino slots, and enjoying time with her family.
Surviving are her husband and children: Colleen (Steve Zahn) Koski of Green Bay, Cathy (Brian) Lahti of L'Anse, Darryl (Lynn) Koski of Jacksonville, FL., and Dan (Stacey) Koski of Depere, WI.; grandchildren: Caitlin (Lou) Koskey, Colton (Megan Wiitala) Lahti, Ryan (Gabriel) Niemela, Samantha Koski, and Ashtin Koski; great-grandchildren: Payton and Miller Pouttu, and a great granddaughter expected in the fall; siblings: Marcy (Wilbert) Franti of Watton, Kenny (Barb) Kytola of Watton, sister-in-law Liisa Kytola of Watton, and Marlene Orchard of Covington; in-laws: Sue (Darwyn) Cote of Chassell, Lynne Lanczy of Marquette, Candy (Sigurds) Janners of Houghton, Trudi (Keith) Mattson of Ishpeming, and Cynthy (Dennis) Lundy of L'Anse; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and close Uncle Ron and Aunt Donna Koski. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Dennis and Morris Kytola, sister Margaret Leaf; father-in-law, Gordon; mother-in-law, Nora; brother-in-law, Ernie Orchard; and four nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 22nd at 10:30 a.m. in the L'Anse Cemetery. Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
