Marion E. Erickson

Marion E. Erickson, age 82 of Skanee, MI passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2004 at her home.

She was born August 8, 1922 to Leander and Edna (Arsonault) Londberg in Skanee, MI. She attended Skanee School, graduating from Skanee High School in 1939. She graduated from Cloverland Commercial College in Escanaba in 1941. Marion married Richard E. Erickson on November 21, 1942. He preceded her in death in March of 1991.

She served as Arvon Twp. Treasurer from 1953-1979, Credit Union Treasurer/manager from 1964-1979, and Deputy County Treasurer from 1980-82. She owned and operated the licensed Hult Foster Home from 1982-88. Marion was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Skanee, WELCA, Arvon Twp. Historical Society, Arvon Twp. Fireman's Auxiliary, and Baragaland Senior Citizens.

Surviving are her sons Roger (Rita) Erickson of Rochester, MN, Kelly (Joanne) Erickson of Skanee; five grandchildren, Tami Sue, Kelly R., Jon R., Esthi Linh, Eli; Three great granddaughters; one great great grandson; one sister Vivian Roehm; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceding her in death are her husband; parents; three sons, Gary, Jon E., Rickey; two brothers; two sisters.

The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 25 at 11:00 am at the Zion Lutheran Church in Skanee. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Pastor Judy Mattson will officiate. Burial will be in the Skanee Cemetery. The Jacobson Funeral Home in L'Anse is assisting the family.
