Mark David Richard, 63, of L’Anse, died peacefully Monday, April 3, 2017 at his home with his family by his side.
He was born June 29, 1953 in Toledo, Ohio, a son of the late Ellsworth and Donna (Pelky) Richard.
Mark worked for Traverse City Packing and as a home builder before moving his family in 1991 to L’Anse where he worked for years at Pettibone.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the L’Anse Hockey Association. He was a hockey dad who could often be found traveling with his kids to and from hockey games and other sporting events and also operated the Zamboni. His other interests included fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Diane (Dompier) Richard of L’Anse; sons, Sean (Sarah), Joseph, Casey and Andre, all of L’Anse; grandchildren, Daphne, Delani, Brody and Brayden; brothers, Orville(Lang) Richard of Las Vegas, NV and Garth (Lin) Richard of Monroe, MI; and sisters, Pam (Fred) Alberado of Grantsburg, WI and Sherry Lampton of Traverse City, MI.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 7, 2017 at 12 Noon in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Corey Litzner officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 am until the time of the Mass in the church. The Rosary will be recited and the Divine Mercy Chaplet will begin in the chapel during Eucharistic Adoration beginning at 10 am.
