Mildred Marie Toivonen

Mildred Marie Toivonen, age 89 of L'Anse, Michigan went to be in the Lord's hands on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at Bayside Village in L'Anse.
She was born March 2, 1921 in Nisula, Michigan daughter to John and Johanna (Pappila) Liuska. She attended school in Nisula. Mildred married John Toivonen on February 11, 1939. She enjoyed bowling, camping and crafts.
Surviving are her sons, John (Gertha) Toivonen and Gary (Irene) Toivonen both of Troy, MI; daughters, Carol (Mike) Paquette of L'Anse and Donna Harkonen of Mesa, AZ; sister Mayme Joki of L'Anse; seven grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband John on April 9, 2006; granddaughter Jessica Harkonen; four brothers; and six sisters.
A memorial service will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice. The Jacobson Funeral Home in L'Anse is assisting the family.
