Mylo G. Paquet, 89, of L'Anse, died Saturday afternoon, February 25, 2006 at the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette.
He was born March 24, 1916, in Medford, Wisconsin, a son of the late Eugene and Helena (Miller) Paquet. Mylo's family relocated to the L'Anse area in his youth and he had been a lifelong resident. He was a 1935 L'Anse High School graduate. Mylo was a WWII veteran, having served in the army. On May 8, 1948 he married the former Elsie E. Ellis in Hancock, MI and she preceded him in death on July 27, 1977.
Mylo worked as a mechanic for most of his working years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 144, L'Anse VFW, DAV and the Eagles Club 2287. He also attended Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Mylo's leisure activities included fishing and wood working.
He is survived by 3 sons, Oliver of L'Anse, William of Aura and David Paquet of Skanee; 4 grandchildren, Aaron, Adam and Andrew Paquet, all of L'Anse and Shelley (Quincy Jr.) Jeter of Detroit; 5 great-grandchildren, Jacob & Brandon Rastello, Wesley, Kaylee and Quincy Jeter; several nieces, nephews and cousins. His parents, wife, Elsie, 3 brothers, Oliver, Eugene Ferdinand and Octave Paquet, and sisters, Matilda and Rita preceded him in death.
In keeping with Mylo's request, there will be no services at this time. A graveside service will be held in the spring in L'Anse Evergreen Cemetery.
