Patricia Mabel Keippela, age 78 of Elo, MI passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at her home.
She was born November 29, 1938 in L’Anse, MI daughter of Clarence and Mabel (Olsen) Van. Patricia graduated from L’Anse High School in 1956. She married Robert Keippela on December 29, 1962 in Hancock, MI. They resided in Baraga for several years before moving to Elo.
Patricia was a member of Grace Free Lutheran Church in Pelkie. She enjoyed home decorating, remodeling, design, and cooking. She was also an accomplished artist whose painting adorn the walls of many of her relatives. She had a beautiful singing voice and sang with her husband’s band The Buckhorneers. Patricia loved visiting her grandchildren and being with family.
Surviving are her husband, Robert of Elo; children, Richard (Theresa) Keippela of Charlottesville, VA, Pamela Keyt of Baltimore, MD, Tamara (John) Wanhatalo of Grand Rapids, MI, Tracy Keippela of Grand Rapids, MI; grandchildren, Robert Wanhatalo, Victoria (Brian) Hess, Haley Wanhatalo, Kirsten (Alan) Johnson, Casey Keippela, William (Catherine) Drake; and 6 great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her parents; son Michael Keippela; brother Dean Van and sister Jody Fish.
Private family services will be held. The Jacobson Funeral Home in L’Anse is handling the arrangements.
