Paul F. Jaukkuri
March 2, 1919 — June 1, 2003
Paul F. Jaukkuri, age 84 of Baraga passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2003 at his home.
He was born March 2, 1919 in Elo, MI son of the late Hjalmer and Wilhelmiina (Kyro) Jaukkuri. Paul married Melvina Auge on April 5, 1947 in Pelkie. They resided in Baraga and he worked for about 25 years at the American Can Company which later became Marathon Corporation. Paul enjoyed gardening.
Paul is survived by his children, Peter Jaukkuri, Elaine (Richard) Blamer, Miina (Richard) Holappa, and Pauline Knapp all of Baraga; a sister, Hannah Redlich of Elo; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife Melvina on August 12, 2002; son David Jaukkuri; five brothers, Oscar, Bror, William, Edward, and Leonard; one grandson; and one great granddaughter.
A private memorial service for family and friends will be held at Elaine "Sam" & Richie Blamer's residence on Old Hwy 41 in Baraga on Thursday, June 5, at 6:30 p.m.
The Jacobson Funeral Home in L'Anse is assisting the family.
