Philomena Mary Reynolds, age 87 of Baraga, MI died on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital.
She was born May 21, 1922, in Medford, Wisconsin, a daughter of Joseph and Susan (Kellner) Stauner She moved to Waukegan, Illinois in 1940 and was employed in a defense plant for seven years. Philomena married Emil Banick on October 26, 1946; he died in 1970. She married Howard Reynolds on September 1, 1973; and he died on July 15, 1995. She had lived in Baraga County since 1976.
Philomena was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Baraga.
Surviving are one son, Donald (Jean) Banick of Lindenhurst, Illinois, and two granddaughters, Tara Banick and Trina Banick both of Lindenhurst. Also surviving are one brother, Alvin (Lillian) Stauner of Medford, WI; three sisters, Agnes (Ray) Carstensen and Catherine Dassow, both of Medford, WI, and Terry Koutrelakos of Winthrop, Maine; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Reynolds was preceded in death by her son Stephen Banick in 1993, five brothers, and three sisters.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 15th at 11:00 am at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Baraga. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Fr. Janusz Romanek will officiate. Burial will be in the Baraga Cemetery. The Jacobson Funeral Home of L'Anse is in charge of arrangements.
