Ray Allen Marshall, 60, of Skanee, MI, died unexpectedly Monday, November 20, 2006.
He was born June 23, 1946, in Detroit, MI, a son of Ernest & Pearl (Barnett) Marshall. Ray was raised in Warren, MI and spent summers with his family as a child in Skanee. He was a 1964 graduate of Lincoln High School in Warren, MI.
Ray worked for 30 years as an electrical engineer for Daimler-Chrysler and retired in 2004 and was a member of UAW Local #7. While employed with the company, Ray earned an Associates Degree from Henry Ford Community College.
On December 22, 2003 he married Arlene Hoffer in Detroit.
He will be remembered by his family as a very good man who loved animals, nature and wildlife and was always willing to help others.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene of Skanee; mother, Pearl Marshall of Skanee; uncle, Dayton Barnett of L'Anse; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Ray was preceded in death by his father and 4 brothers, Jerry, Jimmy, Glenn and Leroy.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2006 at 11 a.m. in the Skanee Cemetery with Pastor Judy Mattson officiating. The Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Copper Country Humane Society.
