Raymond Morro, (Bii dah ni maad) age 46, of Tampa, FL passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2002 at his home. He was born on September 16, 1955 in Chicago, IL, son of the late Henry and Lucille (Loonsfoot) Morro. Raymond grew up in Chicago and graduated from Prosser High School in Chicago. He received an electrical degree from Duluth Technological College, and resided in Superior, WI for about seven years. Raymond moved to Tampa, FL where he has resided for the past 11 years. He worked for Burrell Electric in Tampa. Raymond was a tribal member of the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community. He enjoyed ice fishing and hunting. Raymond is survived by five brothers, Herbert and Gerald Morro both of Chicago, IL, Robert, Richard (Patricia), and Daniel (Wanda) Morro all of Superior, WI; two sisters, Jacqueline Lemieux of Duluth, MN, and Carol Stevens of Superior, WI; adopted mother Sheri Standing Bear of Grandville, WI, special friend Judy Lawson of Tampa; 21 nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held on Friday, Feb. 22, at 11:00 a.m. at the Most Holy Name of Jesus Church in Assinins. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5-8:00 p.m., and Friday one hour prior to the service, both at Most Holy Name of Jesus Church. Fr. George Joseph will officiate. Burial will be in the Assinins Cemetery in the spring. The Jacobson Funeral Home of L'Anse is assisting the family.
