Robert W. Andersen

Robert W. Andersen, age 72 of Baraga passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2002 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 7, 1929 in Chicago, IL, son of the late Roy and Sarah (Dowling) Andersen. He was raised in Chicago and attended high school there, and then served an apprenticeship for his trade in sheet metal work. Robert married the former Karen Cadeau in 1987 in Waukegan, IL. He worked as a supervisor for F.E. Moran in Northbrook, IL. He retired in 1990 and moved to Missouri for six years before moving to Baraga.
Robert is a member of Most Holy Name of Jesus Church. He enjoyed bowling in the League at Ojibwa Lanes, fishing, walking his dogs, site seeing, and gardening.
He is survived by his wife Karen Andersen of Baraga; son, Clifford Andersen of Baraga; five daughters, Venessa Andersen of Wonder Lake, IL, Barb Affinito of McHenry, IL, Roberta Green of Fairview, TN, Melinda Putnam of McHenry, IL, Cindy Sullivan of McHenry, IL; brother Tom (Dawn) Andersen of Chicago, IL; three sisters, Elaine Haysted of Bensonville, IL, Viola Semmler of Chicago, Lill Maloni of Niles, IL; many grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
He is preceded in death by a brother Roy Andersen, and two sisters, Kathryn and Joyce.
The Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, March 2, at 1:45 p.m. at Most Holy Name of Jesus Church in Assinins. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Fr. George Joseph will officiate. Burial will be in the Indian Pinery Cemetery in the Spring. The Jacobson Funeral Home of L'Anse is assisting the family.
