Ronald Adolph Tollefson
November 18, 1931 — May 11, 2006
Ronald A. Tollefson, age 74 of Largo, Florida passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2006 at West Chester Gardens in Clearwater, Florida.
He was born November 18, 1931 in Baraga, son of the late Alf and Elizabeth (Dahlstrom) Tollefson. Ronald grew up in L'Anse and graduated from L'Anse High School. He earned an Associate Degree from Suomi College. Ronald was a Sergeant in the US Army; then moved to Detroit where he worked for the Railroad, and then the Detroit Free Press up until his retirement. In 1995 he moved to Florida. Ronald was an avid sports fan and enjoyed crossword books and taking photographs.
Surviving are nieces and nephews, Jan and Karl Tollefson, Kristen Mroczek, Melanie Wightman, Patrick, Michael, and Mary Gaffney; Goddaughter Suzanne Cunningham; aunts Jean Ayers and Margaret Tollefson; and uncle, Bob Johnston.
He is preceded in death by his parents and step mother Laura; brother Glenn Tollefson; and sister Betty Ann Gaffney.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 16th at 11 am at the Jacobson Funeral Home. Pastor Judy Mattson will officiate. Visitation will be for two hours prior to the service. Burial will be in the L'Anse Evergreen Cemetery.
