Roxanne Esther (Sandbank) Wiik

Roxanne Esther Wiik, age 73 of Aura, MI passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Bayside Village in L’Anse, MI.

She was born July 20, 1944 in Detroit, MI daughter of Reuben and Thelma (Hiltunen) Sandbank. Roxanne graduated in 1962 from Wilbert Wright High School in Detroit. She marred Roger Wiik on December 12, 1964 in Detroit. Roxanne worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan until moving to Ishpeming in 1973 where she then worked for Select Realty, and then the Association of Realtors, until retiring.

About 10 years ago Roxanne and her husband Roger moved to Aura. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Aura Hospital League, Aura Fire Department Auxiliary, and a board member of the Aura Hall.

Surviving are her husband Roger of Aura; children Michael Wiik of Ishpeming, MI, Kristine (David) McDonnell of Ishpeming, Todd Wiik of Gwinn; brothers, Rex Sandbank of Sault Ste Marie, MI, Roy Sandbank of California; grandchildren Megan Judkins and Kelsey McDonnell.

Preceding her are her parents.

Visitation will be on Saturday, March 10th from 10-11 a.m. at Jacobson Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Peter Suomela officiating. Following the service, a luncheon and fellowship will be hosted by the Aura Auxiliary in The Sharing Room at Jacobson Funeral Home. Burial will be in the spring in the Nisula Cemetery.
