Roy D. Clisch

Roy D.Clisch, age 76 of Nisula, MI passed away at St. Mary Mercy Hospital in Livonia, MI on Monday, July 1, 2002.

Roy was born in Alston on August 30, 1925, son of the late George and Nan (Pelto) Clisch. He married the former Ellen Vanhala in Detroit. They have been married for more than 50 years. Roy graduated from Baraga High School in 1943, then graduated from University of Michigan with a degree in Business Administration. He served in the US Army during WWII. Roy worked at Sears for more than 30 years in Troy, MI.upon retirement then they returned to Nisula. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching football and nature programs on TV.

Roy is the beloved husband of Ellen; dearest father of George (Cheryl) Clisch of Flowermound, TX, James (Linda) Clisch of South Lyon, MI, Richard (Joyce) Clisch of Canton and Robert (Janet) Clisch of Plymouth, MI; loving grandfather of eight; a dear brother of William (Jean) Clisch of Alston, MI and the late John Clisch and sister-in-law Barbara Clisch DeWitt, MI.

The funeral service will be on Saturday, July 6 at 1:00 p.m. at the Mission United Lutheran Church in Pelkie. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Rev. Michael Laakko will officiate. Burial will be in the Nisula Cemetery. The Jacobson Funeral Home of L'Anse is assisting the family.
