Roy A. Jolgren

January 10, 1919 — August 15, 2001

Roy A. Jolgren, age 82 of Pelkie, passed away on Wednesday, August 115, 2001 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital.

He was born January 10, 1919 in Pelkie, MI son to the late Emil and Hilda (Lexson) Jolgren. Roy was raised in Pelkie. He wa sin the U.S. Army from 1942-46, during WWII. He lived In Detroit from 1946 until 1977, where he worked for the Burroughs Company in the shipping department. Upon retirement he moved back to Pelkie.

Roy was a member of the Finnish Center in Farmington, MI, VFW Post 7646 in Alston, and the Ottawa Sportsman Club.

He is survived by two brothers, Raymond (Lillian) Jolgren of Pelkie, Leland (Carol) Jolgren of Plymouth, MI; one sister Alice (Arnold) Juntunen of Baraga; two sister-in-law's, Lempie Jolgren of Farmington Hills, Milma Jolgren of Ontonagon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Roy is preceded in death by three brothers, Hubert, Wilbert, William; and a sister Lillian Maliniemi.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 18, at 11:00 a.m. at the Jacobson Funeral Home. The visitation will be thwo hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Rev. Michael Laakko will officiate. Burial will be in the Pelkie Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted at the grave side. The Jacobson Funeral Home of L'Anse is assisting the family.
