Roy Varley

Roy Varley age 78 of Harvey passed away on Friday April 25, 2003 as a result of a car accident.
He was born September 12, 1924 in Detroit son of the late Thomas and Agnes (Allison) Varley. He attended school in Detroit. Roy served in the US Army during WWII. He worked for the United States Postal Service from 28 years in Detroit, retiring in 1980. Roy was married to the former Kathryn Brandvold in 1967 in Detroit. They moved to the Marquette area after retirement.
He is survived by the two step sons, Larry (Janice) LaCasse of Rochester, James LaCasse of Westland; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife Kathryn on Feb. 3, 1996; two brothers Frank and Thomas; and one sister Ethel Scharnhorse.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 2, at 3:00 p.m. at Jacobson Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Fr. Greg Heikkala will officiate. Burial will be in the Baraga Cemetery. The Jacobson Funeral Home in L'Anse is assisting the family.
