Ruth Larsen Christiansen

Ruth H. (Larsen) Christiansen, age 79 of L'Anse passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2004 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital
She was born April 10, 1925 in Detroit, MI daughter of the late Roy and Mary (Bingert) Pickard. In 1943 Ruth graduated from Northern High School in Detroit. She resided in the L'Anse area from 1951 until 1977 when she moved to South Dakota. Ruth married Lester Christiansen on August 3, 1978 in Flandreau, South Dakota. In March of 2003 they returned to L'Anse to reside. She enjoyed knitting.
Surviving are her husband Lester of L'Anse; sons, Arthur (Sharon) Chenoweth and Robert (Mary) Chenoweth of L'Anse, Ted (Char) Larsen of Shawano, WI; sister Dorothy Salisbury of Taylor, MI; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2004 at 11:00 AM at the United Lutheran Church in L'Anse. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Rev. Leon Linquist will officiate. The Jacobson Funeral Home in L'Anse is assisting the family.
