Ruth Ann Ealey

Ruth Ann Ealey, age 84 of L'Anse passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2002 at Bayside Village in L'Anse where she has been a resident for two years.

Mrs. Ealey was born on March 11, 1918 in Metropolis, Illinois, daughter to the late E. Hardy and Ida Rae (Denton) Tucker. She grew up in Illinois and married Paul R. Ealey on December 1, 1934 in Murray, Kentucky. They lived in the Detroit area where she worked as a beautician for 20 years. Mrs. Ealey moved to L'Anse in 1997.

She was a 20-year member of the Bristol Road Church of Christ in Flint, and a former member of the Senior Citizens in Grand Blanc, MI where she was named Volunteer of the Year. Mrs. Ealey loved crocheting, making afghans and quilts, reading, and crossword puzzles.

Mrs. Ealey is survived by her children, Dan (Marlena) Ealey of L'Anse, Marilyn (Victor "Bud") Avery of Haines City, FL; sister Kathleen (Thomas) Wilkinson of Paducah, Ky; brother Loren (Corris) Tucker of Florida; seven grandsons; and 13 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband Paul on March 22, 1978 and a sister Bessie Wilburn.

Visitation for Mrs. Ealey will be held on Sunday, October 20 from 1-3:00 p.m. at the Jacobson Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Ratterree Cemetery in Paris, TN.
