Sean P. Sullivan, age 40 of L'Anse passed away on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2004 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital's skilled nursing unit where he has been a resident for the past 12 years.

He was born December 7, 1963 in L'Anse son of Cornelius and Therese (Wadaga) Sullivan. Sean graduated from L'Anse High School in 1982. He attended Northern Michigan University and received a certificate in Pipe Welding. Sean worked in Texas for a while then moved back and worked for Pelletech in Ishpeming for two years. He then went back to school at Michigan Technological University where he received a degree in mechanical engineering design. He lived in Detroit doing auto design for a short while before moving back to L'Anse where he worked for Huhtala Construction until he became disabled with Multiple Sclerosis. Sean enjoyed hunting and spending time with his friends.

Surviving are his parents Con and Therese Sullivan of L'Anse; sisters, Monica (John) Rovano of Laurium, Bridget Sullivan of Hancock; niece, Melissa Mazurek of Dayton, OH; nephews, Michael Mazurek of Benton Harbor, MI, Alexander and Ryan Kent of Hancock; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, September 11 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church at 11:00 a.m., with Fr. Chacko officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Sean's body will be donated to the Mayo Foundation for research. The Jacobson Funeral Home in L'Anse is assisting the family.
