Sharon Rose Brunk, age 52 of Baraga, MI passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at her home.
She was born June 3, 1961 in Wakefield, MI daughter to Albert Brunk Sr. and Elizabeth “Betty” (Kenosha) Brunk.
Sharon received an Associate Degree from Northern Michigan University. She held numerous jobs within the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community and also was very proud to have worked on the railroad. She was also on the Ojibwa Housing Board for a couple of years. She was active in the Baraga County Pool League and bowling league. Sharon was one of the original members of the Bear Town Fire Fighters.
She loved her friends and family and had one of the biggest hearts and would help anyone who needed it. She always gave even when she didn’t have it. She will be missed by many.
Surviving are her mother Elizabeth “Betty” Brunk of Baraga; 4 brothers, Albert (Ann) Brunk of Baraga, Robert (Vanessa) Brunk of Watersmeet, David (Linda) Brunk of Mole Lake, WI, Ron Brunk of Baraga; 3 sisters, Brenda Brunk, Nancy (Dave) Pawlowski, and Sally Brunk all of Baraga; numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her father, Albert Brunk Sr.
Visitation will be on Friday, May 2 nd beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the Ceremonial Room at the Ojibwa Senior Center. The wake will continue until the time of service on Saturday, May 3 rd at 11:00 a.m. A feast will follow at the Ojibwa Senior Center. Burial will be in the Baraga Cemetery. The Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
