Sigrid Florence (Styrk) Foy

Sigrid Florence Foy, age 97 of Covington, MI passed away on Monday, January 25, 2016 at Bayside Village in L’Anse where she has resided since 2013. Sigrid was born July 13, 1918 in Hancock, MI daughter to Lars and Elina (Ojala) Styrk. She grew up in Baraga and graduated from Baraga High School in 1936. Sigrid married Alex Anderson in 1938 and they resided in Covington. She later married Paul Foy in 1971. She worked as a secretary for Rolof Insurance Agency and then for Clements Insurance Agency. Sigrid enjoyed Oil painting. Surviving are her son Duane (Lorraine) Anderson of Covington, MI; daughter Marcella Anderson of Apple Valley, CA; sister Signe Kruse of L’Anse; grandchildren, Laura (Ken) Wesseln, Peter Mackin, Stephen (April) Christian; great grandchildren, Lily, Luke, Davey, and Eleanora. Preceded in death are her parents; husbands Alex Anderson and Paul Foy; and sister Sylvia Tollefson. Per her request there will be no visitation or funeral service. Committal will take place in the spring in the Covington Cemetery. The Jacobson Funeral Home in L’Anse is in charge of arrangements.
