Siiri E. Ollila

October 14, 1916 — November 25, 2002

Siiri Ollila, age 86 a life long resident of Aura passed on Monday, November 25, 2002 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital.

She was born October 14, 1916 in Aura, MI, daughter of the late Matt and Sophia (Haapalehto) Toyras. Siiri married Wesley Ollila on January 23, 1937 in Calumet. She cooked at the Skanee school for several years. In the 1970's Siiri operated Eddie's CafAC. downtown L'Anse for about six years.

Siiri was a member of the Aura Lutheran Church. She loved to cook, pick apples, and fish.

She is survived by her husband Wesley of Aura; three sons, Clyde (Sharon)Ollila of Skanee, Clarence Ollila of Aura, Gerald (Rose) Ollila of Skanee; two brothers, Matt (Rose) Toyras of Aura, Helmer (Pearl) Toyras of Aura; four sisters, Helvie (Joe) Gorinac of L'Anse, Sylvia Nelson of Skanee, Gertrude Elmblad of Rochester, MN, Signe Koski of Aura; six grandchildren, Jeffery Ollila, Renae (Jay) Loman, Gregory (Suzan) Ollila, Michael (Joanne) Ollila, Jennifer Ollila, CJ Ollila; four great grandchildren, Jason Ollila, Jay Loman, Cheree Ollila, Lucas Ollila.

Siiri is preceded in death by three sisters, Helga Franciskovich, Hulda Kokko, and Hilda Saari.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 26 at 1:00 p.m. at the Aura Lutheran Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Pastor Judy Mattson will officiate. Burial will be in the Aura Cemetery. The grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The Jacobson Funeral Home of L'Anse is assisting the family.
