Stanley Weyman Smith Jr
July 8, 1944 — August 6, 2004
Stanley W, Smith Jr., 60, died suddenly of a heart attack on Friday August 6th 2004. Stan was well respected in the logging community and loved by everyone. His infectious smile and charismatic personality will be greatly missed.
Stanley was born in Seattle, Washington on July 8th 1944 to the late Stanley W. Smith Sr. and RayMona (Donoghue) Smith of Las Vegas, Nevada. Stan graduated from Gorman High School in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1963 and then the University of Arizona at Tucson in 1967, where he obtained his B.A. in Economics.
Stan was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his wife Geraldine, his mother RayMona of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, his son Jeffrey of Las Vegas, Nevada, his daughters, Stacy and Paige of San Clemente, Ca., his cousin Kelly (Terri) Donoghue and their children and grandchildren and countless friends.
A Memorial service will be held Wednesday, August 11th, 2004 at 4:00 p.m. at Peninsula Christian Church in Dollar Bay. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to Community Action, 926 Dodge Street, Houghton, MI 49931.
