Steve Anderson

Steve Anderson age 46 of Pelkie passed away on Monday, January 26, 2004 at his sister's home in Alston following a lengthy illness.

He was born April 24, 1957 in Iron Mountain son of Donald and Barbara (Kunick) Anderson. Steve grew up in Kingsford, and graduated from Kingsford High School in 1975. He then worked at Niagara Paper Mill for a few years prior to moving to California where he lived for six years doing graphic design. Steve then moved to Baraga where he worked at Alessandroni Saw Mill and also as a logger.

He enjoyed fishing; hunting; being at camp with his dad, brothers, uncles, family and friends; working on cars, and mechanical work.

He is survived by his mother, Barbara Anderson of Pelkie; brothers, Dennis (Julaine) Anderson of Kingsford, Scott Anderson of Pelkie; sisters, Cheri Sanicki of Baraga, Lori Bal (Ron Thompson) of Alston; sister-in-law, Renee Anderson Nix of Texas; grandmother, Florence Kunick of Baraga; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and one great nephew Nathan Lund of Florida.

He is preceded in death by his father Donald Anderson and a brother Donald Michael Anderson.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2004 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Baraga at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Pastor Judy Mattson will officiate. The Jacobson Funeral Home in L'Anse is assisting the family.
