Terrence John Huot, 62, passed away on January 5, 2011 from esophageal cancer. He was born on December 29, 1948 in L'Anse, Michigan and was the only child of Cyrus and Amelia Huot, who owned and operated the Gambles store.
After the 1989 death of his mother, Terry lived with Joe and Leona Boggio in Calumet and L'Anse. After Leona's death in 2004, he moved to Portland, Oregon where he lived with family until his passing.
Terry was preceded in death by Leona and Joseph Boggio, Bob and Tiny Huot, Amerigo and Marjorie Imperati, Gino Imperati, Sam and Mary Imperati, and Oralie and Percy Kurtz. He has one living aunt, Clarice Imperati. His cousins included members of the Grandy, Huot, Imperati, Kurtz, and Stafford families. His friends were numerous and included the Bracco, Carey, and Locatelli families.
Terry never forgot the face of anyone he met and he would always greet them with an enthusiastic "BA-BA-BA ... BA-BA-BA!" He will be remembered as a gentle soul with a ready smile and a zest for life. Terry loved beads and "repairing" radios. He brought joy to everyone and he will be missed by his family and friends.
A Funeral Mass be celebrated on Friday, June 3, 2011, 11:00 AM, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of L'Anse with Fr. Antony Lukka officiating. Terry will be buried between his loving and devoted parents at the L'Anse Evergreen Cemetery after the service. A lunch to follow at the Hilltop restaurant.
