Theodore H. Sandelin

Theodore H. Sandelin, 96, of 1850 Cindy Street, Ishpeming, formerly of Baraga County, died Thursday morning, January 15, 2004 at the Magnolia Care Center in Wadsworth, Ohio.

Ted was born April 27, 1907, in Calumet, a son of the late Henry and Hilda (Seppala) Sandelin. On July 31, 1931 he married the former Lyyli "Lulu" Pennala in Calumet and she preceded him in death on November 5, 2001.

Ted was a resident of the Baraga area for most of his life. He worked as a self employed dairy cattle farmer for most of his working years. Ted was a member of the Baraga County Dairy Association, Choral Club, Soil Conservation Association, Pelkie Laestadian Church and a Baraga High School Board Member. In his spare time he enjoyed carpentry.

Mr. Sandelin is survived by his daughters, Verna (Donald) Byykkonen of Ishpeming, Kay Maloney of Iron River and Linda (David) Lindstrom of Seville, Ohio; fourteen grandchildren; forty-seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. His wife, "Lulu", parents, three brothers, three sisters and two great-grandsons preceded him in death.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2004 in the Pelkie Laestadian Church from 12 noon until the time of a funeral service at 2 p.m. Pastor James Frantti will be officiating. Interment will take place in the spring in the Pelkie Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a memorial contribution may consider the Pelkie Laestadian Church.
