Thomas Calvin Pechauer, age 76 of Pequaming, MI passed away on Friday, July 25, 2014 at Shulstad’s Leisure Living.

He was born August 19, 1937 in Milwaukee, WI son of Frank and Irma (Illian) Pechauer. Thomas's mother passed away when he was an infant and he was raised by his father Frank and step mother Sylvia (Illian) Pechauer.

Thomas graduated from Pulaski High School in 1955 and then went onto to Michigan Tech University where he received his Bachelor's degree in 1960. He married the former Joanne Elsie Hinz on August 24, 1963 in Cleveland, OH. He worked in Sandusky, OH for General Motors as a Sr. Research Metallurgist; retiring in 1992. He then went to work for Industrial Powder Coatings in Norwalk, OH until 1998 at which time he retired and moved to Pequaming, MI. His hobby was model railroading.

He belonged to Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in L'Anse and was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus.

Surviving are his wife Joanne of Pequaming; children, Scott (Rhonda) of Norwalk, OH, Matthew (Melissa) of Sandusky, OH, Holly (Brian) Pahl of Louisville, KY, Dana (Steven) Risner of Norwalk, OH, Lee (Susan) of Louisville, KY; and 16 grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents and step mother.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 29th from 5-7:00 p.m. at Jacobson Funeral Home. Parish prayers were recited at 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass was held on Wednesday, July 30th at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Corey Litzner officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Baraga Home Care & Hospice or Shulstad’s Leisure Living. The Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
