Toini Kaarina Selden, age 90 of L'Anse, MI passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Marquette General Hospital.

She was born December 22, 1921 in Slapneck, MI daughter to the late Mauri and Hilda (Alfors) Lampi. Toini graduated from Eben High School in 1940. She served in the US Women's Army Auxiliary Corp during WWII. Toini worked for the US Selective Service for 20 years, retiring in 1974. She was a life member of the VFW Auxiliary.

Toini married Howard "Bouncer" Selden on May 18, 1963 and they made their home in Skanee and after retirement they wintered in Florida. She was one of the first Treasurer's when the Credit Union was owned by Ford Employees; which is now known as the Baraga County Federal Credit Union. Toini enjoyed playing bridge, crafts, and handwork.

Surviving are her daughter Bonni Sacca of Medford, New Jersey; five grandchildren, Lisa, Cathy, Teri, Tracie, and Frank III; 9 great grandchildren, Taryn, Michael, Danielle, Menotti, Miranda, Marcus, Christie, Kyle, and Frank IV; one great great granddaughter Madison; three nieces, Ruby Lampi, Betty Pope, and Carol Quinnell.

She is preceded in death by her parents, five siblings, and her husband Howard Selden.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 28th at 1:00 p.m. at the Jacobson Funeral Home with Rev. Judy Mattson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. The VFW Auxiliary will conduct a service at 12:45 p.m. Burial will be in the L'Anse Evergreen Cemetery.
