Vanessa Joan Gauthier, infant daughter of Melissa McSawby and Jamie Gauthier went to be an Angel of God on March 8, 2008 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital.
She was born on February 13, 2008 in Hancock, MI. Although her time here was short she brought great joy and was loved very much by her family.
The short little time she was here with us she was our everything, our world, our angel. Everyone that met her couldn't help but to fall in love, and smiled the moment they saw her. She will always be in our hearts with us until we see her again.

Surviving are her parents Melissa McSawby of L'Anse and Private First Class Jamie Gauthier who is stationed in Iraq; maternal grandparents Colleen and John DeRoche of Zeba; paternal grandparents Cathy (Al) Shelifoe of Baraga and George Gauthier of Baraga; paternal great grandmother Joan Gauthier of Baraga; maternal great grandparents William and Gretchen Emery of Zeba; great great uncle Jerry Lee (Cindy) Curtis of Baraga; great aunt Jody Miller of Zeba; aunts and uncles Carmen, Nellie, Josh, Tricia, Justin, Leroy, Kyle, Rebecca, and Tristan; several more aunts, uncles, great aunts and uncles, and many cousins.
Preceded in death are maternal great great grandmother Alice Curtis; maternal great grandmother Georgianna Emery; maternal great grandmother Beverly Miller; paternal great grandfather Leroy Gauthier.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 12th from 5-7 pm at the Jacobson Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, at 11:00 am at the Jacobson Funeral Home. There will be visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev. John Henry will officiate. The Jacobson Funeral Home of L'Anse is assisting the family.
