Vaughan Chapman, age 63 of Cary, Illinois, formerly of Trout Creek, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2008 at his home following a short illness.
Vaughan was born November 5, 1944 in Marquette, MI son of the late Neil and Kathryn (Vaughan) Chapman. He graduated from Trout Creek High School in 1963, then went into the US Navy, and served our country until 1966. He married Carol Beck formerly of Ontonagon, MI in 1966 in California. They lived in California for 18 years, and then moved to Green Bay, WI for 6 years until moving to the Chicago area where they had been residing. Vaughan worked for Continental Airlines and then United Airlines as a supervisor retiring in 2006. He enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family.
Surviving are his wife Carol of Cary, IL; children Sandy Chapman of Shawano, WI, Kathryn Keturoskey, David Chapman, Steve (Catherine) Chapman all of Fox Lake, IL, Debbi (Ray) Bishop of Mundelein, IL; brother Paul (Vickie) Chapman of Lindenhurst, IL; 7 grandchildren; and numerous relatives.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister Jane Caudill.
Graveside services will be held in the Sidnaw Cemetery on Saturday June 21, at 11 am. The Baraga County Area Veterans will conduct military rites under the direction of the American Legion Post 444 and brother-in-law Dean Jackson will follow with a prayer service. The Jacobson Funeral Home of L'Anse is assisting the family.
