Walter (Bill) William Sundquist

Walter (Bill) William Sundquist, age 52 of Baraga, MI formerly of Warren, MI, passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Marquette General Hospital after a short battle with cancer.
Bill was born July 16, 1960 in Warren, MI to William and Beatrice (Paquette) Sundquist. He moved to Baraga as a teenager and graduated from Baraga High School in 1978; then received his Bachelor's degree from Michigan Technology University in 1983. Bill moved to Brighton, MI and began his career with Chrysler. He continued his education and received a Master's degree from Lawrence University in 1994. After 30 years with Chrysler, Bill took an early medical retirement and moved to Baraga two months ago to be near his family.
Bill was a member of the Board of Professional Engineers. He enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, camping, kayaking, and jeeping.
Surviving are his sister Suzanne Miettinen of Baraga; aunts Patsy Lane of L'Anse, Virginia Penokie of L'Anse; uncle Henry Tangen of Baraga, and numerous cousins.
Preceding him in death are his parents William and Beatrice Sundquist.
There will be no visitation; a family memorial dinner will be held. Burial will be in the Baraga Cemetery. The Jacobson Funeral Home in L'Anse, MI is assisting the family.
