William Edward "Teeny" Knapp, 59, of Baraga, died early Monday morning at Baraga County Memorial Hospital.
He was born June 23, 1945, in L'Anse, a son of the late Archie and Margaret (Shelifoe) Knapp and has been an area resident for most of his life.
He worked for several years as a laborer. He was a member of the Ojibwa Senior Citizens, an avid Green Bay Packer fan and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, friends, dancing and the casino.
William is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Knapp of Baraga; grandchildren, Tanner and Taryn Chagnon of Baraga; step-daughters, Julie Furaiter of L'Anse and Jodie Furaiter of St. Paul, MN; a brother, John Knapp of Escanaba; 5 sisters, Louella Wood of L'Anse, Nancy (Fabian) Haataja of Zeba Brenda McKittrick of Beloit, WI, Margaret (William) Rowloff of Sidnaw and Mary (George) Geroux of Baraga; and several nieces and nephews. His parents; 2 sons, Scott and Todd; and three brothers, Archie Jr., Eugene and Wallace preceded him in death.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2005 from 11 to 1 p.m. in the Jacobson Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be in the Pinery Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to William's family.
