Wilma Kauranen Meranuck

Wilma (Kauranen) Meranuck, age 91 of Las Vegas, NV passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2009 in Las Vegas.
She was born on November 22, 1917 in Watton, MI daughter of Andrew and Lydia (Niemi) Kauranen. Wilma attended school in Watton and moved to Detroit where she met and married George Meranuck on November 8, 1940. After retirement they moved to Bradenton, FL; when George passed away she moved to Las Vegas to be near her granddaughter Dawn.
Surviving are her son Dan and grandchildren Dawn (Keith) Blum, Katie and Michael Meranuck; three great grandchildren Max and Mia Blum and Haleigh Meranuck; one sister Betty Goodreau of Grafton, WI; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her husband George; son Jim; brothers Arvo, Andrew, Jalmer, and Elmer; sisters Anna Kujala, Elma Maki, Alma Godell, Vieno White, Aina Foy, Lucy Koski, Eleanor Stephenson, and Signe Alberani.
Wilma was very special and loved by many. She will be sorely missed by her family and all that knew her.
A memorial service for Wilma was held in Livonia, MI.
